Duck Soup Coop Board Meeting August 4, 2009 |

Present: Peggy James, Donna Jones-Ilsley, Leo Kurylo, Cynthia Nelson, Tania Nezrick, Ruth Peterson, Patty Ruback Absent: Mary Helen Polensky Guest: Saige Ruback
President Nezrick opened the meeting at 7:13 pm. The June minutes were approved by consensus.
MANAGER’S REPORT Bridget will be leaving the DSC staff in the fall. Joan will become a full-time staff member. Perhaps later James will look for another staff person. The staff is working together well and serving DSC well.
Sales are down a bit for the month of July so James is working at managing cash flow carefully. We currently have had to pay for some of our advertising for the coming year and also for the extra inventory for the Alternative Energy Fair, but we are still paying all bills ahead to receive discounts, etc. Sales per day averaged $2000 during the month of July
Financials will be available soon and will be sent to the board via email.
After a discussion of membership guidelines, it was decided to restate them at the General Membership Meeting and in the newsletter before the next year renewal date.
OUTREACH The Alternative Energy Fair food has been ordered. James will do the paper work necessary. James, Nelson and Ruback will work on Sunday. Nordstrom will be available to move materials with his truck. Nezrick will be on hand both Friday to set up and all day Saturday. Ice chests will be used but a small refrigerator will be available as a backup. Details are well covered.
MEETING DATES The next Outreach meeting will be Wednesday, September 2 at 6 pm. The next BOARD MEETING will be FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 at 7 pm The next pot-luck will be August 22 at Patty Runback’s home beginning approximately at 3 pm.
