GENERAL MANAGER’S REPORT

Financials for the quarter will be presented at the next meeting.

James is still pursuing the possibility of work with Heritage Farms and Bronwyn Weaver, but had nothing to report to date.

Sales are fairly strong though up and down.  Usually we get about $2000 to $2200 sales each day.  We need at least $1700 right now to run the store and stay current with bills.  On an average day we have about 125 shoppers and the average sale is between $20 – $25.

Duck Soup was awarded BEST BOOTH IN SHOW at the NIU Wellness Fair.  There was very positive feedback from those who attended.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE

The next potluck will be May 1 or 2 hosted by Pete Holtz.

The Spring-a-ma-Jig will be held on May 9 and will be both inside and outside.  There will be a plant exchange and other wonderful things happening at that time.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Bylaws changes have been suggested.  Polensky will be reviewing them and making suggestions.  Some of the bylaws changes may well need to be presented as standing rules.  It was suggested that standing rules should really include some of the understood procedures that we operate under but that are not necessary written down in a formal manner.

The Basement Cleanup Day will be May 30.  There may be a freecycle element as a part of that, but this will not include materials brought in – only those from the basement.

The next meeting will be MONDAY, MAY 11 at 6 pm.  in the board room.  Nezrick and Jones-Ilsley will bring food.

Thanks to Mary Helen Polensky who brought a delicious soup for us all to dine on around our elegant board room table.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 upon a motion from Nelson seconded by Polensky.
